North Korea's pledge in 2007 that it would dismantle its nuclear weapons infrastructure appears to be too good to be true. Despite signs earlier this summer that it would halt work toward nuclear weapons, according to North Korea's Central News Agency has retracted that pledge. According to reports, North Korea's action communicates anger at the United States for keeping it on the state sponsors of terrorism list, as well as dissatisfaction with the deepening ties between China, its ally, and South Korea.
