1966 International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights

The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, Ratified by the United Nation's General Assembly on December 16, 1966 inveighed against torture in Article 7:

No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. In particular, no one shall be subjected without his free consent to to medical or scientific experimentation.
